Apply for the Design Bridge London Client Servicing & Strategy Graduate Scheme 2019

If you graduated in 2018 or are due to graduate in 2019, have a passion for brand design, and you’re looking for an opportunity to kick-start your career in a creative and inspiring place, then our London-based Graduate Scheme might be just the thing for you.

It’s worth saying upfront that this scheme is not suitable for those looking to develop a career as a Designer (design grads should consider entering our Dog’s Bollocks Student Awards competition for the opportunity to win a paid placement in our Studio – details coming soon!)

What we ARE looking for are bright and brilliant Grads who want to develop a career in either Client Servicing or Strategy in the brand design industry.

Let us tell you a little bit more…

The Graduate scheme

Based in our London Studio in the heart of creative Clerkenwell, our Graduate Trainees will spend the majority of their time with either the Client Servicing or Strategy Team. Working on live projects, you’ll learn about the entire design process as you go, starting with taking the initial client brief right through to delivery, and everything in between. Tasks will be varied – from competitor analysis to innovation workshops, project planning to proposal writing – and you’ll also have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of our business, spending some of your time working with and learning from other teams including Business Development, Operations and Production.

You will be assigned a mentor – someone who has worked at Design Bridge for a little while now – who will work closely with you during the year, helping you develop your skills and seek out the best opportunities for you to learn and grow. And, of course, there will be plenty of time to get stuck into Studio life. Whether it’s visiting talks and exhibitions with your team, our infamous summer away day, helping organise Halloween activities in the Studio, or simply getting to know your new work family a little better over a couple of drinks at The Kings or a slice of cake in the cafe, there’s always something to get involved with.

How to apply

You can apply for the scheme using the form here – this is what we’ll need from you:

The basics: your name, contact details, where and what you are studying and, of course, you’ll need to upload your CV.

You will then need to complete 2 tasks:

1) In the Cover Letter part of the application, please include 100 words (or thereabouts) that tells us a little bit about yourself, what interests you about brands, why you’d like to work at Design Bridge, and which team you think you’d be best suited to and why – Client Servicing or Strategy.

2) Respond to the following brief: Tell us about a brand you really love – and why!

This could be any brand – big and global, small and local, a personal brand, even. You can interpret the brief however you wish and your response can be presented in any format you like, but it will need to be uploaded as a document (such as a Word or PDF document) as part of your application. The document you submit as your response to the brief could contain a link to a film you’ve made on YouTube, perhaps it’s a written piece, maybe you’ll design a poster. Whatever you decide on, we encourage you to be creative.

Please note that applications must be in by the end of the day on Friday 22nd March.

What we’re looking for

As you’ll discover elsewhere on our website, original thinking is at the heart of everything we do at Design Bridge, so we’re looking for compelling, bold and innovative ideas that are communicated in an engaging way. We love a good story, and we want to see your passion for brand design shine through in your application.

It goes without saying that we’re looking for people with excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in joining the DB family. Oh and, despite our name, we don’t actually design bridges here, so Bridge Designers need not apply – you’d be amazed how many applications we get!

What happens next?

After the closing date of Friday 22nd March we’ll review all of the applications and create a shortlist of people who will be invited in for a first interview. These will take place on either Tuesday 9th April or Thursday 11th April.

Those who make it through to the second stage will be invited back in on Monday 15th April or Wednesday 17th April for a final interview.

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of April and will join the team in September 2019 for 1 year. At the end of your year with us there will be an opportunity for you to become a permanent member of the team, too.

And finally…

If you’re thinking about applying then it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with our work and our culture, so take a look around our website to get a feel for who we are and what we do. For example, we have plenty of blog posts where you can meet some of the people you will be working with, take a look at the Work section to learn about some of our award-winning work, or check our Latest page for some of our more recent projects.

You can also keep up to date with what we’re up to on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Ready to submit your application? Fill in the form and upload the documents here – good luck!
