Photographer Daniel Mirer’s talk at Design Bridge Amsterdam

All the best conversations happen with a drink at the bar. No more so than last Thursday evening with the first of our ‘At the Bar’ series of guest speakers at Design Bridge Amsterdam.
The series of Thursday night talks is designed to invite talented individuals to inspire and enlighten – from chefs to tattoo artists and everyone inbetween. Our first guest, photographer Daniel Mirer, didn’t fail to deliver by sharing his view of the world around us, in his own passionate, charming and often humorous way.

Originally from New York and now practising and lecturing here in Holland, Daniel searches for and captures the seemingly underwhelming architectural spaces that we all pass through and ignore every day of our lives. Those transient or hidden corners, corridors and rooms that never got the full love, care and affection from any planner or architect.
His unique style finds a way of bringing them to us that highlights the beauty in the banality and celebrates the often ill-considered nature of these places. The combinations of colour, proportion and geometry are what makes his work so unique and intriguing.
