Stella Artois' augmented reality e-card

Augmented Reality is a bit of a hot topic at the moment (nice post coming soon on this from Chris, watch this space – Eds). Interesting to see this week that Stella have just launched a Christmas e-card using augmented reality, created by Bright Spark Digital.

According to the article on Popsop: ‘Stella Artois is engaging its consumers into the environmental campaign with a nice touch of technological innovations. Inside the augmented reality you can see the iconic beer glass and yourself — the webcam makes it possible to become a leading actor in your e-card.’

It’s a nice treatment and this campaign will really help with their goal of driving reappraisal (away from the wife beater image) but I do wonder whether they’re trying to do too much all at once.
