Friday Favourites

Seeing as it’s almost Christmas, Jade spied a seasonal photography story that we just had to share this week. Danelle Manthey’s 2003 project, Christmas USA, was originally a series of photographs capturing people in her hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with their Christmas Lights. Danelle explains, “The streets have names like Candy Cane Lane, Church Lane and Penguin Lane, and all of the houses are decorated in the particular theme of that street.” Danelle’s project has since grown and she has spent 10 years shooting similar scenes across 12 states. If this doesn’t get you into the Christmas spirit, we don’t know what will…

The Forgotten Genius

From Caroline S this week: “So you don’t have to be a football fan to enjoy this video. It’s a really cool collaboration of production and animation between Bleacher Report and Uniform. The transitions between scenes are really artful and the playful type helps create pace and construct the world within the black background. The script is effortless, too.” Here comes the film…

Smile, you’re on camera!

To end this week’s Friday Favourites, and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, are these photos from the 2017 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, as featured on The Guardian.
