Happy Holidays from Design Bridge: the story behind our 2017 greetings card

December is a month full of traditions, and one tradition we have here at Design Bridge is our seasonal greetings card, which we create each year to say “thank you” to our clients, collaborators and friends.

Our 2017 design takes inspiration from festive traditions associated with this time of year in each of our 4 Studio locations, offering a glimpse into some of the local celebrations that take place during December. Each tradition was decided on and illustrated locally before being brought together for the final design – a true collaborative effort across our Studios – and you’ll find an intriguing crop of each bespoke illustration on the front of the red card, which has been screen printed in white ink to give a lovely tactile finish. Turn it over and on the back of the card you’ll find short stories behind each of the traditions, as told by Francesca T…

New York Candy Cane

White is the colour of this season in New York. it’s the snow on Nomad’s bustling sidewalks, the lights twinkling on winter trees, and the candy canes brightened with a peppermint stripe.

London Cracker

It’s over one hundred years since the cracker was first made (and pulled) in Clerkenwell. Inspired by the crackle of the winter fireplace, every year paper hats, bad jokes and prizes still tumble out with a SNAP.

Amsterdam Sinterklaas Chocolate Letter

A sweet homage to the sweetest tradition. From Oldenzaal to Overtoom, Sinterklaas brings Dutch children their chocolate initials, songs, poems and presents every December.

Singapore Fireworks

Fireworks above marina Bay are a most unusual sight in Singapore. But on the last day of December, that unmistakable whoooooosh can be heard, as colourful lights fill the sky and bring good luck to those below.

The final thing to say is “Cheers!” from all of us at Design Bridge, we hope you all have a fabulous festive break and a very happy New Year.

P.S. We’ll be closed during the holidays from midday Friday 22nd December, back with you on Wednesday 3rd January 2018.
