Design Bridge celebrates International Women’s Day 2022
- Mar 26, 2022
Imagine a gender-equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women’s equality.
Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
Here at Design Bridge, we make it our mission to #BreakTheBias every day, creating a supportive, safe environment to gather and work, where we champion inclusion and celebrate diversity.
It’s so important to us that all of our five global Studios are safe, secure spaces, where we empower our people to have open conversations, challenge stereotypes and ultimately break down barriers. Feeling safe where we work gives us the reassurance to be ourselves, and the freedom to grow, learn and thrive.
So, this year, we’re crossing our arms in solidarity with International Women’s Day; we pledge never to stop working to #BreakTheBias.
We have never shied away from inclusivity and collaboration as it informs our culture and we’re proud to celebrate our equal gender balance in all of our Studios. We are constantly working to readdress imbalance and it’s just one of the reasons why we have so many incredible women in management positions across the Group.
Whilst we are passionate about maintaining this safe and inclusive environment for everyone who works with us, we are all too aware that that same sense of security is sadly farfrom the reality for countless women throughout this country and the rest of the world. None of us can sit back and let that continue…
So, for International Women’s Day 2022, we also wanted our response to focus on action.
Keep scrolling to see some of the brilliant work being done across our studios…
Taking a run.
Meeting a friend.
Just getting some air.
These are all situations in which women have every right to feel safe, yet this is sadly not the case. And the issue isn’t going away.
In recent times Uber has pledged to create safe environments for female travellers via features like location sharing and driver profiles. But there are still times when it feels impossible to get a driver in the first place.
We’re proud to be collaborating with Soumya Rao on the cover of her soon-to-be-published book, which portrays how domestic abuse is often met with a blind eye by family members and society.
We’re honoured to shine a light on Rao’s journey and admire her courage in telling her personal story so openly, encouraging individuals to speak out by sending a message of hope and empowerment.
Soumya’s book no longer allows us to sweep the topic under the carpet, but instead reveals what’s going wrong and how to come out of it stronger. This is a story of hope and optimism, that anyone can restart and create a beautiful life.

Our Amsterdam Studio has been supporting Dance4Life for more than 15 years now, and we’re incredibly proud of our brand identity work for the movement. You can find out more about this amazing organisation, its impact, and how you can help here.
Sex education cannot be treated as just a regular school subject; it’s an integral part of adolescent development and should be approached as such. That’s why the Dance4Life organisation places empowerment at its core, using the power of dance and positive energy of music to connect with and educate more than 5 million young people across continents, countries, and cultures, emboldening them to lead safe and healthy sexual lives.
We’re going to keep engaging in ideas for change, cultural perspectives, and active conversations to help create a safer world for women – and anyone who may feel vulnerable, different, or excluded.
Because collectively we can all #BreakTheBias
