Last year we welcomed Dan Austin of charitable foundation 88bikes to speak at one of our Amsterdam Studio’s inspiring ‘At the Bar’ sessions. The team were so struck by the amazing work that 88bikes is doing to provide girls with bicycles all around the world, with a particular focus on supporting the heroic survivors of human trafficking, that they wanted to do something to help.
So that’s exactly what they did and, with the help of a few friends, the team created 88 original, one-of-a-kind pieces of bicycle-themed art. Here are a few examples:
Originally exhibited almost a year ago to the day in Amsterdam, the artworks were due to be officially launched in the US and auctioned off in Spring this year to help raise funds for the charity. And then Covid happened.
However – and just in time for last minute Christmas gifts (hint hint) – we’re excited to share that all of the artworks are now on display at the Rad Power Bikes showroom in Seattle (measures are in place to keep everyone safe, but do stop by if you’re in the vicinity) and the auction is now live!
Head over to the online auction website here to see all of the artworks and find out how you can get your hands on one by donating to the 88bikes Foundation and helping women and girls all over the world.
