Design Bridge and Fortnum & Mason win Illustration for Branding award at Design Week Awards 2019

Following on from receiving the D&AD Design Agency — Client Collaboration of the Year 2019 at D&AD last month for our on-going partnership with Fortnum & Mason (more on that here), we’re excited to share some more related news: last week we picked up an Illustration for Branding award at Design Week Awards 2019 for our Fortnum & Mason County Biscuits design!



This award is all about demonstrating skill, execution, and the ability to respond to a brief and capture the mood of a brand through the use of illustration, and we’re delighted to see more of our collaborative work with the brilliant Fortnum’s team recognised by the industry. In fact, the latest print issue of Computer Arts Magazine has a special Workshop feature all about how we came up with the design idea, and delves deeper into the storytelling and crafting behind the execution. This includes how we experimented with traditional printmaking techniques to inspire the aesthetic of the illustration that flows around the tin, depicting quirky folklore tales from the 4 counties that the biscuit recipes originate from. Here’s a peak from behind the scenes…




We are very proud of this little keepsake biscuit tin, which has also received a Silver at FAB Awards, Highly Commended at The Drum Design Awards, and reached Finalist Level at New York Festivals this year – congratulations to Team Fortnum’s!
