As part of Singapore Design Week 2019, our Design Bridge Singapore Studio put on a showcase exhibition at the Substation Gallery, with the theme being “Truth & Dare”. This was an opportunity for us to display some of our recent work, champion bold creative thinking, and raise a glass to celebrate the breadth of projects we’ve worked on, and clients we work with.
Truth & Dare is a philosophy that is woven through every piece of work that passes through our Studios, and our opening night party gave us the chance to take our clients through some of the thinking behind the work we do, encouraging them to challenge the way they think about their own brands and how we can continue to push our collaborative work further. Our clients were proud to see their brands displayed in our unique gallery setting, and some were also surprised to see the different project we worked on using the skillset we have.
But this showcase wasn’t just for our clients, we also opened the exhibition specifically for groups of university and high school students to visit. Each day members of the team were on hand to meet the students, share insight into working in our industry, explain the creative process behind our work, and educate them on creative career paths that they might not know about.
In these sessions we were asked lots of questions from the students, such as: What is branding and graphic design? How do I build a portfolio? What’s the difference between DB and an advertising agency? What made you chose this career? They brought a real sense of energy to the space and many of the lecturers said that it was the most enjoyable part of their day. We have no doubt that we’ll be seeing some of these young creative minds again in the future…
