Happy Diwali from Design Bridge Singapore

Also known as the “festival of lights”, Diwali is a popular festival observed by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists around the world. This year Diwali falls on Sunday 27th October, and as part of the celebrations people illuminate their homes and share sweets and gifts with their friends, family and loved ones.

In the spirit of Diwali, our Singapore Team have come up with their own, unique way to celebrate and share with our clients in India, and they have crafted some very special gifts…

Inside the beautiful bespoke boxes, which have been designed using traditional symbols and colours associated with Diwali, you’ll find 3 candles to represent light (lighting an odd number of candles at this time of year is symbolic) alongside 4 jumbo matchboxes.

But these matchboxes aren’t what you’re expecting. Inside each is a selection of Singapore childhood sweets to try, share and savour, and the clash of cultures is brought to life through the line “from our hood to yours”.

The matchbox designs are inspired by the individual sweet wrappers, and each features a line of cleverly crafted, witty copy to bring an extra smile to people’s faces.

And for eagle-eyed recipients out there, if you flip the box over you’ll also find an extra message from all of us here at Design Bridge.

We’d like to wish everyone, wherever you are in the world, a very happy Diwali.
