An inspiring afternoon with Singapore’s ADM packaging design students

We’re big believers in nurturing young creative talent at Design Bridge, and we are always looking for new ways to seek out and support the next generation of designers and creative thinkers.

Earlier this year, Jesvin Yeo (Associate Professor of Visual Communication Program at Nanyang Technological University – School of Art, Design and Media, also know as ADM) invited our Singapore Studio’s Executive Creative Director, Tim Siro, to be the Guest Critique for the packaging design class that she is teaching this semester. We invited Jesvin and her class along to the Studio so that the students could present their work to Tim and Jo Tay (Managing Director), and receive that all-important feedback. Here’s what Tim had to say…

“NTU’s ADM has been our go-to course to find great young Singapore design talent for several years now. We’ve hired many NTU Graduates over the years, and we currently have 6 ADM alumni working in the Studio – Yvonne Eng, Jin Ping Soh, Jian’an Ong, Alice Ng and Aaron Lim. This is the first specialist packaging class I’ve been invited to crit and I am pleased to see that there is a surprisingly fresh mix of structural packaging and graphics. The strongest work dug deep into curious stories about local brands and brought a fresh new twist to life – this mindset and way of working reflects how we work at Design Bridge.”

Here’s a selection of some of the work that was presented:

We ended the session by giving the students a tour around our Studio. We have one of the students joining us for a 100 week internship on 8th May, and maybe we’ll be welcoming some of the others back in the future, too…
