Stories from Design Bridge: Lockdown Life Drawing at Design Bridge London

How do you keep team spirit alive in lockdown? While most of us have spent the majority of this year working from home, we’re never short of finding ways to keep the DB culture alive, even if we aren’t all together in the same place.

Keen to break screen habits and get our creative juices flowing, last week one of the teams in our London Studio rolled up their sleeves and got involved in an hour-long virtual life drawing class.

Surprise models were dialled in and held a pose for a set amount of time as the team sketched away using a mix of charcoal, watercolour pens, sharpies, or whatever they could get their hands on. As you can see, we’ve unearthed some very talented artists…

As Hayley Barrett, Design Director and instigator of the first session put it, “It was a huge success in detaching from the usual stresses and strains of the world, bringing us together virtually in a different way to our day-to-day work life. It was almost like we were all together in person. Almost.”

This is the first of (hopefully) many classes amongst the Studio teams, and we’re encouraging everyone to set up their own sessions and get sketching – we can’t wait to see the results!
