It’s become something of a tradition for our Amsterdam team to channel their creative influences into something a little bit different around this time of year with the Studio’s annual Easter egg decorating competition!
With most of us still working from home, this year a special gift was delivered to everyone’s doorsteps, complete with a card designed by our brilliant intern Andrea (and a bespoke poem inside), a small green tote filled with traditional Dutch flower bulbs and, of course, some chocolatey treats to fuel the creative process.
From the simple and bold to the wildly-bedazzled, the comical to the elegant, some people sought the expert help of their crafty kids, whilst others got creative with their photographic compositions, but it was down to an esteemed panel of judges to choose the best of the best this year.
Here’s Alicia to tell us all about the eggs that she and her fellow judges deemed this year’s top 3..
In first place was ‘Eggstravaganza’ by Zainab and her daughter Celina:
“The creative partnership that’s taking the fashion world by storm. This week, DB egg competition, next week Vogue. This is fashion, dahling, and we are here for it.”
Second place was awarded to Jacques for ‘Egg-stravagant Easter Party':
“Talk about theatre! Jacques has transported us to the avant-garde stage. The whole play will probably be in Ancient Greek, with a hip hop soundtrack or something equally unexpected!”
And in third place we have ‘Egg in the Disco’, submitted by Marijn’s daughter:
[Play Donna Summer].
A huge round of virtual applause and congratulations to all of the winners from our eggs-tended Amsterdam Studio!
Want to see some more eggs-cellently decorated eggs (and some of their creators)? Oh go on then…
