IHG Hotels & Resorts operates 19 world famous hotel brands across more than 100 countries, with over 6,000 open hotels and one of the industry’s largest loyalty programmes. With an overriding purpose to provide ‘True Hospitality for Good’, its ambition is to deliver industry-leading growth in its scale, enterprise platform and performance, and do this sustainably for all stakeholders. An ongoing priority for IHG is demonstrating this purpose throughout the Annual Report.

The Report is a key piece of communication that reflects the company’s purpose to provide ‘True Hospitality for Good’. Photography features prominently throughout reflecting the unique and diverse experiences offered by IHG. Furthermore, we’ve worked with IHG over the past few years on developing a more editorial approach, making complex content more digestible to the reader.


IHG predominantly franchises its brands and manages hotels on behalf of third-party hotel owners. Explaining this unique business model is a challenge, and we worked with IHG to overcome this by incorporating data and graphical devices to support the narrative.

IHG refreshed its strategy in 2023, therefore a key focus in the 2023 Report was to communicate how the new strategy would impact its ambition, strategic pillars and growth behaviours.

The strategic overview is followed by a section dedicated to providing further detail on each strategic pillar. Each one is clearly laid out, highlighting achievements in 2023 and summarising the next steps. These varied levels of disclosure allow the reader to absorb the key facts whilst allowing for more granular detail where desired.

This year we collaborated with IHG on its inaugural Responsible Business Report, to communicate its ambitious 10-year Journey to Tomorrow strategy which aims to improve the lives of 30 million people. The report continues to use IHG’s engaging editorial format and a blend of imagery, data and infographics to demonstrate performance across its range of initiatives.
