Women receive healthcare in a man’s world, filled with taboos, misconceptions and shame due to huge gaps in research, data, information, care and trust. Bayer AG has been pioneering Women’s Healthcare for more than 100 years, but lacked an overarching vision, direction and platform to unite its extensive portfolio. We created a new brand dedicated to illuminating every woman’s health journey — powered by Bayer’s leadership position, scale, relationships and research — to create meaningful change.

Bayer has always been a beacon for health. The company’s 51-metre illuminated logo — known as the ‘Bayer Cross’ — is one of the world’s best-known trademarks and has been lighting up the sky in Bayer’s hometown of Leverkusen, Germany for over 90 years. We drew inspiration from Leverkusen and Bayer’s history of illumination to create a new beacon for Women’s health. In one simple motion the Bayer Cross reconfigures to form the Venus symbol, a universally recognised signifier of womanhood.


This distinctive new icon leverages Bayer’s scale, research and relationships to drive meaningful change, demonstrating the company’s full commitment to the new brand and women everywhere.
